Lotherton is a very popular destination with Yorkshire families for good reason: as well as a variety of play areas, pretty gardens and walks around the grounds, it’s also home to the Wildlife World Zoo. Our own kids can – and do – spend hours watching the penguins play before paying a visit to all the other creatures. The animals have been behind closed doors for the last few months, but the good news is that Wildlife World is now fully open from 11am to 5pm. What’s more, the cafe is serving takeaway sandwiches and snacks from 9.30am to 5pm daily and the loos are open too (phew!). The grounds and gardens are open from 8am to 8pm daily for all, but the house and playgrounds are closed for the time being. Book tickets in advance to avoid disappointment as numbers are limited.
