Coming up in York this weekend for kids: July 16th &17th

York Maze reopens

One of York’s top attractions for families, York Maze reopens for the summer this weekend. There’s a new Crowbot show, new Crowmania ride and lots more to look forward to. Opens 16th July until 5th September, 10am to 6.30pm. More details here

ADAM Festival

The Acomb Dance Arts & Music Festival takes place on Saturday 16th July between 10am and 2pm. Head to Acomb Explore library, and sign your kids up for the fab Summer Reading Challenge while you’re there. It’s free and it’ll encourage them to enjoy a summer of books. You can also sign up at all the other York Explore libraries from Saturday onwards.

Book tickets soon, or don’t blame us if they all sell out. Shows run from 15th July until the end of the month, and there are more details below. This weekend we’re looking forward to Baby Loves Disco and Tiddler (and other terrific tales). More details here.

City Screen Kids’ Club: Arrietty (U)

14-year-old Arrietty and the rest of the Clock family live in peaceful anonymity as they make their own home from items that they borrow from the house’s human inhabitants. However, life changes for the Clocks when a human boy discovers Arrietty. Saturday 16th July – City Screen, York – film starts 11.15am – £1.50 per ticket. More details here. York for kidsKnavesmire Junior Parkrun

A free, fun, timed run for 4 to 14 year olds. Sunday, 9am, The Knavesmire, York, YO23 1EX. Register here before you turn up.

Beehive Beach Bonanza

Head along to this summer fundraiser for lots of seaside fun, including donkey rides, games, ice cream, stalls and even a beach, apparently! Sunday 17th July – 11.30am to 2.30pm – Low Moor Centre, Fulford, York – Free entry. More details here.

Rowntree Park Birthday Party

We love this annual event at one of York’s most beautiful parks. There’ll be a dedicated kids’ area with tons of fun stuff to get involved in. Sunday 17th July – 1pm to 4pm – Rowntree Park – Free entry. More details here.
