So how was it for you? We hope you had a very merry Christmas and are looking forward to a happy new year with your little Vikings. By this point in the festivities, you’ve probably had your fill of Christmas TV, Quality Street and hunting out batteries for all the new toys. If you need to get out and about with the kids – for your sanity and theirs – here’s what’s on this week in York for children. It’s a quiet week, with lots of the regular sessions for kids not kicking off again for a week or two. If you’re stuck for ideas, don’t forget to check out the rest of Little Vikings for ideas for soft play, parks, adventure playgrounds and much more around York to entertain your little ones.

Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland  – York Designer Outlet – 9.30am to 9.15pm (funfair from 2pm approximately) – Free entry but charges for activities (£9.95 adult/£8.95 for ice skating;  various charges for funfair)

Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland returns to the Designer Outlet this Christmas with ice-skating at The Ice Factor and a traditional funfair. We didn’t find our visit very magical but the kids enjoyed the fair and children from 5+ will enjoy the ice skating. And it’s one way to get them more interested in the sales shopping.
