Wednesday 4th September

Big Scream – City Screen Picturehouse – 11am – normal admission prices apply
For parents and carers with babies under one year old. This week, The Way Way Back is showing.

Friday 6th September

City Screen YorkToddler Time – City Screen Picturehouse – 11.30am – £3 for children, accompanying adults free if you join the Toddler Time club (free).
The perfect way to introduce your little one to the cinema. This week it’s Rastamouse 6.

Saturday 7th September

Kids Club – City Screen Picturehouse – 10.45am (activities), 11.15am (film) – £3 non-members/£1 members. Membership is £4.

Saturday 7th September

LIttle Vikings - DIGLittle Diggers – DIG – £3 per child, one accompanying adult is free – 9.30am for an hour
The Little Diggers group is a Saturday morning session for 2-5 year olds at DIG. An enthusiastic guide takes the little diggers on an archaeological adventure with a different theme each week. It’s great fun and fantastic value (£3 per child at the time of writing). This week’s theme is ‘Dinosaur Dig’. Booking is essential: call 01904 615 505.

Saturday 7th September

Auditions for York Theatre Royal Pantomime – From 2.30pm
A chance for 8-11 year olds (under 5 foot tall) to audition for this year’s pantomime, Aladdin and The Twankeys. See the Theatre Royal website for more information.

Saturday 7th September and Sunday 8th September

Little Fun Fest – York Maze – 11am to 5pm – Tickets from £18 if bought in advance
Little Fun Fest will bring together in a big top Mister Maker, Mr Bloom, Alex Winters and other names that will make fans of CBeebies beg their parents to fork out for tickets. Expect songs, crafts, action, games and lots of interaction. There will also be face painters, puppet shows, a Harry Potter tribute act and circus school.

Saturday 7th September

Open Day – Brunswick Organic Nursery and Craft Workshop – 11am to 4pm – Free
Get along to the open day at Brunswick Organic Nursery for crafts, activities, a raffle, tombola and lots of lovely plants for sale.

Sunday 8th September

York Races Press Family DayPress Family Sunday – York Races – Gates open 11.15am, last race 5.10pm – prices for adults vary, but under-16s go free
Press family day is a thoroughly family-friendly event, with none of the intensity of the Ebor weekend. As well as seven thoroughbred races, there will be an interactive racing zone, bouncy castle and special appearances by Peppa Pig during the day. Splash out on a ticket for the Grandstand and Paddock (single admission price) or take a picnic and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the course enclosure and hope it doesn’t rain!
