From pumpkin picking to witch and wizard workshops, Halloween fancy dress catwalk to a spooky trail through the Enchanted Forest, there’s loads going on at Stockeld Park this October half term for kids. Pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch (£3) or book in for an hour’s wizard and witch training (£8.50). There’ll also be a pumpkin carving expert who you can watch making some wonderful creations (24th & 25th October). On the 31st you can see lots of creepy creatures up close and personal, including millipedes and scorpions (11am to 5pm, free). That’s on top of the usual activities that make Stockeld Park a fun day out in the Yorkshire countryside, like the Nordic ski trail, ice skating, play areas and maze. It’s around half an hour from York, just outside Wetherby, and we’ve always had a good day out there.
Good to know: great baby changing; free parking; cafe; picnic spots; Enchanted Forest is buggy friendly; age restrictions for some activities. Best on a dry day as most activities are outside. There are some nighttime Halloween events for older kids and adults.
PS: Have you entered our competition to win a VIP Christmas day out at Stockeld Park?
