Well that’s your summer entertainment sorted! The Great Yorkshire Fringe is back for 2017 and there’s a whole host of shows, events and activities to look forward to including some great stuff for kids.
This fantastic festival of entertainment, music, cabaret, magic and theatre returns to the heart of York from 21st July to 6th August 2017, and the first acts have already been announced. Families will be delighted to hear that the Julia Donaldson classic, The Scarecrows’ Wedding, will make its York premiere direct from the West End. It’s from the same creative team as The Stick Man and Tiddler and Other Tales, so if you caught them at the Great Yorkshire Fringe over the last couple of years, you’ll know you’re in very safe hands! Expect laughs, larks and lots of charm in a show that’s suitable for children aged 3+. We’ll announce the other family shows as we get the details, so watch this space.
But don’t let the kids have all the fun – it’s worth booking a babysitter for the grown-up stuff too. Already confirmed are Richard Herring, Slightly Fat Features and The Ronnie Scott All-Stars Present – The Jazz Divas featuring Claire Martin OBE. The Great Yorkshire Fringe Dog Show will be back, and there’ll be loads of lovely things to eat and drink from the festival’s village green home on Parliament Street. We can’t wait.
