The Bloodaxe Reading Challenge is back!

All those children who loved the Summer Reading Challenge run by the fabulous York libraries will be excited to hear that the Bloodaxe Reading Challenge is back! Eager bookworms can sign up at any York library right now and keep reading over winter to win stickers!

All they have to do is read four books between before the end of January. They’ll get a special character sticker for each book they read, with stickers of Ingvar, Arnleif, Naila and Ragnar to collect. Read all four, and a smashing certificate is all theirs! They’ll get a free ticket to the fantastic JORVIK Viking Centre, too, as well as the chance to meet Mark Huckerby and Nick Ostler, authors of the Defender of the Realm series of books, during the 2018 JORVIK Viking Festival.
Here at Little Vikings, we’re keen to encourage kids to read. That’s why we’ve started our Little Vikings Book Club: children can write in and tell us – in a few words or sentences, and with parents’ help – about a book they’ve enjoyed. One lucky reviewer will be picked out to receive a book that’s been specially selected for them from Waterstones York! Send your reviews of any book at all to .
