One of our most memorable moments from last summer was sitting in the sunshine at Rowntree Park watching Park Bench Theatre’s Teddy Bears’ Picnic. Not only was it so emotional to be sitting with other families (at a distance, but still) and enjoying some live theatre, but the show itself was just perfect (you can read our review of Teddy Bears’ Picnic here). Exciting news, then, that the show is being streamed by Engine House Theatre from Friday February 26th to 7th March 2021. The show is suitable for everyone aged three and over and includes a ‘make your own teddy bear’ craft video. Tickets, which allow viewing for the whole event period, are £5 and can be booked at tpetv.com
About the show – Every year Jo’s family used to have a big family gathering – a teddy bears’ picnic. It was brilliant. Then she got too old and too cool for that sort of thing. So she stopped going. But now she’s grown up … she wishes she could have them all over again.
It’s a gorgeous show, and would be a lovely thing to watch together during the last few days of lockdown.
