For the first time ever, Castle Howard is hosting a Halloween event. The sweeping grounds will be unrecognisable, having been transformed into a wickedly wonderful wonderland. This family-friendly ‘Chills and Thrills’ spectacular takes place on Wednesday 30th October and promises to get hearts beating. Walk the flare-lit path while watching out for the headless horsemen and his guards, then take a trip to the South East wing where you’ll be met by spine-chilling story tellers, terror face painters and magic mirrors. The ‘horses of Halloween’ grand finale will see Yorkshire-based Atkinson Action Horses (as seen in War Horse, The King’s Speech and more) perform death-defying stunts and breathtaking displays with fire and explosions. There will be prizes for the best carved pumpkin, and the most ghoulish costume too. Better start hunting out that Dracula outfit.
Castle Howard – Wednesday 30th October – Gates open 4.30pm and it will go on until approximately 8.30pm- £15 for adults, £10 for concessions and under 5s go free – to book, visit the Castle Howard website.
