Get your skates on! New roller rink and YO1 Beach Club at York Designer Outlet this summer

YO1 Beach Club

Now, this is exciting! Remember the YO1 Beach Club by the river last summer? With its seaside vibes and family-friendly activities, it was a popular spot for families in York. Well, it’s back, but with a twist: YO1 Beach Club returns for summer 2022 at a new venue – York Designer Outlet – with a new addition: a roller rink! There’ll also be a vintage carousel, cafe and a boat for kids to clamber over. It’ll be open from 14th July to 4th September 2022 (9.30am to 7pm) at the South Entrance of the Designer Outlet, and you can book your rollerskating tickets online.

The new-look YO1 Beach Club & Roller Rink will comprise a wood-panelled covered Beach Café and Bar, with a veranda and boardwalk entrance across the beach area with picnic tables and deckchairs.  No need for a trip to the seaside: there’ll also be lobster pots and surfboards, as well as colourful beach huts selling ice creams and seaside souvenirs.

Food & drink

The Beach Café will serve freshly cooked food including burgers, sausages, pizza and fish and chips, as well as vegan and kids’ options.  The fully-licensed bar will offer a range of refreshing drinks, including coffees from The Baytown Coffee Company from Whitby, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks as well as zero alcohol alternatives.  Milkshakes, coke floats and delicious Yorvale ice creams in a range of flavours will be available from the traditional beach hut. You can even have your birthday party, get-together or family celebration there!

Tickets

Admission to the YO1 Beach Club & Roller Rink is free, with tickets required for an hour-long roller staking slot. It’s £9.75 for adults and £8.75 for children (aged 16 and under).  Family tickets start at £27 for three, £35 for four and £43 for five.  A charitable donation of 50p from every ticket purchased will be split between our two chosen charities – York Mind, the mental health charity, and Ryedale Special Families which supports families with disabled children and young people.  There’s a 50% discount for disabled and carers (proof of PIP or DLA required).  Tickets can be bought on-site or in advance.
