Review: West End Magic at The Great Yorkshire Fringe

If your children’s endless questions drive you slightly crazy, a word of warning: it’s going to get a lot worse if you take them to West End Magic. Since we saw our first West End Magic show at the Great Yorkshire Fringe a couple of years ago, our seven year old considers it an essential part of our summer. This year we thought it was time to introduce his five year old sister to this magical summer experience too.

As the name suggests, the show hails from London and brings together a variety of magicians and entertainers in a family-friendly show, compered by award-winning Oliver Tabor. We took our seats perilously close to the stage and what followed was a whirlwind of trickery and silliness that had the children – and lots of the adults – wide-eyed and open-jawed. How did he do that Rubiks Cube so fast (with a blindfold)? How did that bubble turn into a glass ball? And WHERE ON EARTH DID THAT DOVE COME FROM???! It’s great fun and both our children thoroughly enjoyed it. We know what we’ll be doing next summer. Magic.

The Great Yorkshire Fringe continues in Parliament Street until 6th August 2017. There’s still time to catch The Scarecrows’ Wedding – read our review here.
