If your kids love getting muddy like ours, then the perfect event is coming to York this September. Race for Life’s Pretty Muddy Kids is heading to the Knavesmire and promises to be a really fun way to raise money for the amazing Cancer Research charity. It’s a brilliant muddy obstacle course just for little ones. They can take on the obstacles, crawl through the mud pit and have fun with friends, all the while helping raise valuable funds for beating cancer. The 5k course is a flat single lap course using both the Knavesmire and the perimeter track of the racecourse. The terrain is a mixture of grass and tarmac pathways with lots of mud and obstacles for the kids to get involved with.
All of the Pretty Muddy Kids events are approximately 5km. At the majority of venues, there will be a shortcut available at approximately 2km or 3km, which will lead back to the finish line, so it’s not a disaster if their legs get tired. If the shortcut is taken, it may mean missing out some of the obstacles, but all children will get to take part in the muddy slide at the end. Don’t forget to pack some spare clothes!
