On the edge of the pretty Yorkshire Wolds, Woldies Lavender and Nature Farm (formerly Wolds Way Lavender) is around half an hour from York and easily accessed from the A64 (summer traffic permitting). Surrounded by woodland, you’re greeted by buzzing bees and chattering birds. There’s plenty for children to do: our kids loved the giant willow maze where they got stuck into lots of garden games. There’s a good play area, giant sandpit and kitchen and even footgolf, which was a big hit with our whole family. It’s a lovely, relaxing place to visit with plenty of fun things for children to do.
Discover nature gardens, trails and play at Woldies Lavender & Nature Farm in the stunning Yorkshire Wolds. In a beautiful 12 acre setting of lavender, wildflowers and woodland you will find nature activities and games for all the family to enjoy together. A new exciting addition this year is the Bees & Friends Garden. Make your way through the honeycomb to the giant observational bee hive, become a pollinator and pollinate the giant flower, help Woldie Willow track bumblebees and find out how honey is made. Favourite activities at Woldie’s include counting and learning about different types of butterflies in the butterfly garden, spotting birds in the bird hide, and looking out for fish, frogs, newts and more in the nature ponds. Don’t forget to ride the miniature railway, drop by the den zone, challenge your family to a game of footgolf and get lost in the willow maze.
