October half term in York: Bats and more at Beningbrough Hall

Visitor holding a pumpkin in the allotment gardens at Quarry Bank Mill, Wilmslow, Cheshire. There’s lots coming up for kids this October half term at Beningbrough Hall. Join Boris the Bat to solve the mystery on the spooky sound trail with the help of the Beningbrough Buddies. If the weather’s ghastly there’s lots to do indoors: lantern making from Thursday 29th to Saturday 31st (small charge) and on Halloween itself, professional story teller Stories Alive will have terrible tales for all. On the 31st there’ll also be a grand costume parade so come dressed to scare. Worried about the size of your pumpkin? Then guess the weight of the giant one on display for a chance to win it! We’ll be hoping our kids aren’t too accurate with their guess on that one – not sure we’ve got space for a giant pumpkin! Book your place on the torch-lit bat walks to try to find this nocturnal creature and whatever else comes out at night – perfect for Batman enthusiasts of all ages!

Beningbrough Hall will be open every day during half term except (Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November). Normal admission charges apply. For full details visit the Beningbrough Hall website or call 01904 472027
