- Newby Hall is a stunning Christopher Wren-designed house, but it’s the adventure playground, miniature railway and magical gardens that will have the kids asking to go back again and again. It was one of our favourite places as children and our kids love going there too.
There’s a lot to love about a day trip to Newby Hall. The adventure playground is fantastic for all ages: there’s a sandpit and swings for little ones and a zipwire, pedalo boats and more for older children. Everyone will love the interactive water play area, except for parents who’ve forgotten to bring a spare set of dry clothes for everyone! A trip on the miniature railway (at a small extra cost) is something that children remember forever. It’s fun for grown-ups too.
Good to know – The kids might not want to leave the adventure playground but try not to miss out on a trip around the gardens – there are lots of fun hiding places and areas that will fire little imaginations. Members of the Historic Houses Association get in for free.
