In the past few weeks, we’ve seen York as we’ve never seen it before: silent streets, empty snickelways and very few signs of life aside from birds and the occasional squirrel. We live just outside the city centre and, during our permitted exercise, we’ve taken images of the city as we hope we will never see it again. It’s beautiful, but we can’t wait for the slow, safe return to the bustly, family-friendly city that we know and love.
Here is our record of York during lockdown in April 2020. We hope you enjoy it. For more of our images, please do follow us over on Instagram, and for more videos (including some brilliant videos for kids), subscribe to the new Little Vikings YouTube channel.
While you’re here, why not check out our new Fun Things to Do at Home section. It’s packed with great resources for kids, from free audiobooks to activities from Yorkshire attractions, some brilliant homeschooling help and great video content.
