School’s out, and there’s a long summer ahead (although seven weeks of holiday seems a doddle compared to several months of lockdown!). With many of choosing to stay local, it’s the perfect time to explore and enjoy what we have on our doorstep. As well as letting families know about the many great things to do and places to stay, Little Vikings are launching a new campaign to encourage families to eat, shop, stay and play in York this summer.
As always, Little Vikings is the go-to for families visiting and living in York who want to discover the best things to do in and around the city. With our magazine (digital-only for the first time, as a temporary measure), easy-to-use website, online event calendar and social media, we’ll make sure they don’t miss a thing. But that’s not all. Through our social media platforms and weekly newsletter, we’re on a mission to encourage families eat, shop, stay and play in York this summer.
We’re particularly concerned about the many independent businesses in and around York that are going through very difficult times at the moment. For the city to continue to thrive – and remain a fantastic place for families – it’s vital that these businesses survive. They’re a huge part of what makes York so special and we don’t want to lose them. So we’ll be spreading the message to our large, engaged audience of Yorkshire families that local businesses need our help more than ever.
We’re already leading by example by using local businesses as much as possible ourselves and sharing our experiences on social media. It’s no hardship – we all know that the best coffee and cake comes from the independent places! Keep an eye out as our campaign develops, and please do eat, shop, stay and play in York this summer.
