Museum Monkeys: Free activity sessions for under 5s at York museums!

With three young children, we know all too well the struggle to find things to do during the week that will entertain them without breaking the bank. So it’s brilliant news that York Museums Trust’s Museum Monkeys sessions are now free. Museum admission does apply for adults, but if you have a YMT Card, your admission is free all year long (add it to your Christmas list if you don’t already have one! We use ours so much it’s practically wearing out).

The Museum Monkeys sessions are split into Museum Baby (for under 2s) and Early Years Explorers (2 to 5 year olds) and run during term-time on Thursdays and Fridays at York Art Gallery or York Castle Museum. Expect songs, stories, games and – for the older ones – craft activities based around the museum’s collections. We’ve taken our youngest along and she had a lovely time exploring all the toys and making something lovely to take home. Booking is essential and can be done online. What are you waiting for?
