Those mothers out there who reckon you deserve a medal for your efforts at entertaining the kids during half term might like to drop a reminder or two over tea that Mother’s Day is coming up soon (hardworking dads, you’ll get your reward/burnt toast in bed on June 19th).
There are some nice things coming up for families to enjoy in York on Mother’s Day, including a special High Chocolate menu at York Cocoa House on Sunday 6th March. You’ll start with creamy cauliflower soup with a spiced white chocolate garnish and goat’s cheese scone before enjoying a selection of savoury chocolate treats, including York Cocoa House rarebit with York Chocolate Stout. To finish, there’ll be a choice of desserts including salted caramel chocolate truffle cake. Then you’ll be all set for several laps of the city walls to walk it off and admire the daffodils!
You can also combine your Mother’s Day treat with a chocolate workshop. Create your own Chocolate Box or Chocolate Model in the workshop at 11.30am – 12.30pm or create your own gorgeous box of Chocolate Truffles in a Truffle Making workshop at 1.30pm.
The High Chocolate menu is £15.50 for adults and £11.50 for children. This includes a special chocolate gift for Mothers and a make your own lollipop session for children. The High Chocolate menu combined with a workshop is £30 per adult and £21 per child. Visit the York Cocoa House website for more information and to book. York Cocoa House, 8 Blake Street, York YO1 8QJ
