Micklegate Soapbox Challenge: August Bank Holiday Fun in York

When it comes to August bank holiday fun in York, what could be more entertaining than watching homemade carts hurtling down the famous cobbles of Micklegate? Yep, the Micklegate Soapbpx Challenge is back and it’s great fun for the family.
Head to Micklegate from 10am on Monday 28th August where 50 teams will compete for the winning trophy. Will anyone actually make it to the finishing line? Will anyone end up in the river?! Carts aside, there’ll also be a food court with outdoor eating area, children’s rides, fairground rides on Ouse bridge and live music from York bank Huge. Boyzon’e Shane Lynch will be kicking off the event, too. It’s all free too. See you there!
