JORVIK supports Autism Hour this week

As part of National Autism Week, the JORVIK Group is supporting Autism Hour with low arousal settings within its attractions at 4pm on Friday 6th October. Here’s what you need to know about what’s happening at each of the attractions.


JORVIK Group YorkJORVIK Viking Centre

There will be a low-arousal setting within the centre, including turning down ambient noise in the galleries and the ride experience and toning down the strength of the smells of Viking-age York. Visitors will still enjoy the opportunity to discover, explore and experience the impact of the Vikings throughout their visit. Pre-booking is recommended but not essential. Barley Hall York Little VikingsBarley Hall

Barley Hall will offer a low-arousal setting across the medieval townhouse, including turning down ambient noise in the galleries but still offering visitors the opportunity to experience life as it was in York during the Middle Ages. Little Vikings - DIG YorkDIG – An Archaeological Adventure

DIG will be offering a low-arousal setting at this hands-on archaeological adventure, including turning down ambient noise but still offering the same great experience where you can DIG deeper into the history of York.  Pre-booking is recommended but not essential. The Richard III & Henry VII Experiences
There will be a low-arousal setting at both of the Wall experiences, including turning down ambient noise but still offering the same great experience where visitors can explore the impact the last Plantagenet king and first Tudor monarch had on York.
