If you want to give your kids a Christmas treat to remember this year, you’re spoilt for choice. There are pantomimes and opportunities to meet Father Christmas galore. And that’s not all: our friends at The Jorvik Group have come up with two special events especially for the little Vikings: A Children’s Christmas at Barley Hall and A Little Diggers Christmas.
Head to Barley Hall for an afternoon of festive fun in this lovely medieval house. Expect parlour games, stories, a Christmas tea party and a chance to meet Father Christmas (and a present for under the tree!).
A Children’s Christmas at Barley Hall – Saturday 7th December and Sunday 15th December – Barley Hall – 2pm to 4pm – £14 per child, with one accompanying adult free (price includes hot drink and mince pie for the grown-up) – pre-booking essential (01904 615505)
Dig, delve and discover the fun side of history with the Saturday morning learn and play sessions. In these special festive sessions there will be a Christmas theme, with stories, crafts and a special visitor bearing gifts! Who could that be, we wonder…
A Little Diggers Christmas – DIG – Saturday 14th December and Saturday 21st December – 10.30am to 11.30am – £3 per child – pre-booking advised (01904 615505)
If you can’t make these events but fancy seeing Santa at DIG or Barley Hall this Christmas, you can find more details in our guide to where to meet Santa in York.
