Howard Day at Castle Howard (and Christmas tickets released!)

There’s a new event coming up at Castle Howard next week, and it’s set to be lots of fun for families. On Wednesday 30th July, head to Castle Howard for the inaugural Howard Day. On the eve of ‘Yorkshire Day’, ‘Howard Day’ will celebrate all things Castle Howard and recognise the date the House opened to the general public for the first time. Howard Day will feature hot air balloon displays, family games, a tug of war contest, craft activities, dressing up and free admission for anyone with the name ‘Howard’.

It’s also a great excuse to visit Skelf Island, the epic new adventure playground, if you haven’t already done so. It’s such a fun place to play – our kids loved it. Brave the rope bridge and explore the brand new play area, with slides, climbing walls, zip wire and lots more. The original adventure playground is still open too, making it a great place to play for all ages. Read the Little Vikings review of Skelf Island here.

Another reason to get the date in your diary is that it’s also the day that tickets for Christmas at Castle Howard go on sale. It’s always an incredible event, and this year’s Christmas Masquerade theme sounds fabulously festive.
