If you’re struggling to feel festive amidst the stress of Christmas shopping and the end-of-term commitments, a wander through the Festival of Angels in York this weekend should do the trick. If you’ve never been before, make this year the one for braving the crowds and the parking charges – you won’t regret it.
The annual Festival of Angels is our favourite of York’s festivals (and we have a few!). The streets are transformed into a northern winter wonderland, with stunning ice sculptures and entertainment galore. Cafes and restaurants take to the pavements to make sure that you’re never too far away from a hot chocolate or mulled wine. It’s truly magical for kids, too (you’ll just have to be patient if you’re pushing a buggy as it does get busy and you don’t want to cause any ankle injuries). The Festival of Angels is one of the highlights of York’s calendar – don’t miss it.
