- Harewood House is a stunning stately home on the outskirts of Leeds – we went as kids, and now we’re taking our own children who love it too. Local families often invest in an annual ticket because there’s enough here to keep children asking to come back throughout the seasons. The impressive adventure playground caters for most ages, but little ones might prefer a trip to see the flamingos and penguins in the bird garden. Then there’s a dedicated area for children within the house itself – ‘below stairs’ – complete with dressing up box and other fun activities.
Good to know – There are often events like festivals and shows, so keep an eye on the website. Although there are plenty of places to eat, there are lots of picnic tables if you decide to bring your own food instead. There are plenty of activity trails to download from the website.
