Not long to go before October half term is upon us, so it’s a good time to think about how to head off those cries of ‘I’m bored!’. Thankfully there’s tons of stuff to do in York this half term, including the ever-popular Piglets Pumpkin Festival.
Always a top destination for parents wanting to give their kids a fun outdoorsy day out, Piglets comes into its own at Halloween. This year there’s loads to enjoy, including spooky storytelling, pumpkin carving (choose from 10,000 pumpkins – not a task for the indecisive!), hook-a-pumpkin, corn cannon, trailer ride to the pumpkin patch, fields of fright, creepy cottage, eerie-sistable BBQ, Halloween fancy dress parade (judged at 3pm each day), pumpkin sling-shot and all the usual Piglets activities. After all that, pick up something tasty from the Farmer’s Cart for tea so no-one has to cook.
Pumpkin Festival – Piglets Adventure Farm Park – 18th & 19th October, then 25th October to 2nd November 2014 – adult £5.95, child £6.95, family £24 (pumpkins not included in entry price)
