Free entry to some of York’s many attractions for Heritage Open Day

Treasurers House YorkWe love exploring new places with our kids, especially when it doesn’t break the bank. Next week’s Heritage Open Days event sees many of England’s treasures open their doors for free so that everyone can enjoy them. From castles to city halls, tunnels to towers, there’s an endless choice of places to go and things to do. In our neck of the woods you can enjoy a day out at Beningbrough Hall (Saturday 13th September, 11am to 5pm) or the Treasurer’s House (11am to 4.30pm), or check out some of the more specialist places you may never even have heard of, like The Stained Glass Centre (Saturday 13th September, 11am to 4.30pm) or Poppleton Community Railway Nursery (Saturday 13th September, 10am to 4pm). It’s a great chance to find some hidden gems right here on York’s doorstep.

For more information on all the lovely places to see for free next weekend, visit the Heritage Open Days website.
