Free entry to Yorkshire attractions with Heritage Open Days 2019

Heritage Open Days comes just after the end of the summer holidays just at the time that we’re all in the market for a free day out! Running from 13th to 22nd September 2019, it’s the annual national celebration that celebrates heritage, culture and community by lots of amazing places opening their doors for free. This year is no different, and there are a number of attractions in and around York that are taking place. Take a look at the Heritage Open Days website for everyone taking part and on what date, as they are not all taking part for the whole festival. In the meantime here’s the pick of our favourites, and the dates/times that they’re participating.

Treasurer’s House

An intriguing house in the shadow of York Minster with a ghostly history. The cellar tours are really interesting (free on the festival dates and places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis) and the garden is pretty too. Head down to the cafe for scones and a pot of tea!
