Free entry for mums to York's Chocolate Story this Mother's Day

Lots of mums (and dads) rely on the restorative powers of chocolate to get them through the tricky days/weeks/decades of parenting. So where better to visit on Mother’s Day than York’s Chocolate Story? All mums are welcome to visit York’s Chocolate Story for free with a paying son or daughter where they’ll learn the history of York’s most iconic chocolate brands and create their own chocolate treats, before seeing how the experts do it. We were invited along to the opening of their new 250 years of Terry’s exhibition last night, which gives you a brilliant insight into the history of Terry’s including the world famous – and much loved – Chocolate Orange.
Forgot to buy your mum a gift? Don’t panic! The shop is packed with fab presents. including the amazing handmade chocolates (we’ve had them – they’re awesome). Even better, how about indulging in a Chocolate Afternoon Tea in the café? It includes chocolate dipping sauce with marshmallows and strawberries, fresh macaroons, millionaire’s shortbread, chocolate fudge brownies and traditional scones with clotted cream and chocolate raspberry jam. Sweet!
