Immerse yourselves in Christmases past at York Castle Musem’s Victorian Christmas. The fun programme of events includes a lost letter mystery, gingerbread making, visits to Santa and brilliant performances of A Christmas Carol on Kirkgate, the cobbled Victorian street. This year the ice skate is even bigger than ever, with the iconic 30ft Christmas tree towering over proceedings. One of the highlights of York’s festive calendar is the York Ice Trail. Find over 40 unique icy sculptures along the cobbled streets and thoroughfares of the city centre. Keep warm with mulled wine and enjoy soaking up the atmosphere.

Explore the grounds of Brodsworth Hall after dark as it’s transformed into a fairy-themed wonderland of light, colour and sound. There are two special festive Little Diggers sessions for 2 to 5 year olds at DIG: An Archaeological Adventure on St Saviourgate. On 2nd December, it’s all about Christmas toys and games.
