February half term in York: Happy birthday Yorkie!

York's Chocolate StoryYORKIE is 40 years young! Yep, the chocolate bar that declared the city’s menfolk to be hunky (which they all are, of course) is hitting middle age. But instead of panicking and buying a fast car, midlife-crisis-style, it’s celebrating with the help of York’s Chocolate Story.

York’s top chocolate attraction (voted Best Chocolate Experience in the Little Vikings Awards 2016) is leading the birthday celebrations by recreating one of York’s most beloved retro signs. Until the early nineties, trains arriving at York railway station would pass the iconic billboard which read Welcome to YORK(IE) – Where the Men are Hunky and the Chocolate’s Chunky. York’s Chocolate Story is recreating the iconic billboard and you’ll find it in King’s Square throughout February half term (February 13th to 21st 2016). The sign will be an unmissable 9ft wide, so head over for selfies galore! There will also be YORKIE giveaways in the Square, while visitors to the attraction itself will be treated to interesting YORKIE facts on the fully guided tour.
