Peppa Pig’s Best Day Ever – Live in York

Our youngest’s first experience of the theatre was seeing Peppa Pig live at the Grand Opera House in York and she couldn’t believe her eyes (or her luck). It’s a brilliant way to introduce children to the joys of the theatre, and is bound to be a hit with fans of the famous pig family.

Green Eggs & Ham

All but the luckiest parent can relate to the plight of Dr Seuss’s Sam-I-Am in the classic tale, Green Eggs and Ham. It’s a hilarious story that highlights the importance of trying something before you decide that you don’t like it! This spring, the talented folk of Opera North will be bringing the story to life with two opera singers and a nine piece orchestra. Suitable for 4 to 7 year-olds, it’s a great introduction to live music and wonderful instruments.

Pippi Longstocking

We’re big fans of the Pippi Longstocking books in the Little Vikings household, so we’re really excited about this year’s summer show at York Theatre Royal. Nine-year-old Pippi is strong, brave and fearless. When she comes to live in her new home with her monkey and horse but with no parents and no rules, she brings mischief, chaos and confusion to the folk of this ordinary Midlands town (yes, she’s moved from her traditional Swedish home for this version!) . Pippi takes charge of her own crazy adventures, with her two new friends, Tommy and Annika. What else would you expect from the daughter of a swashbuckling pirate captain?
