Visit the Yorkshire Museum in York during the Easter holidays for an exciting range of fun family events. All activities are included in museum admission, and are inspired by the beautiful spring wildlife in York Museum Gardens!
Spring Museum Gardens Activities! – Have fun exploring the Museum Gardens before you head inside to explore The Yorkshire Museum! Follow our springtime garden trail to discover new plants and flowers, and make a spring nature hat with craft materials provided by the Museum! Create your own creepy crawly puppet – Join Gemma from Hoglets Theatre to create your own creepy crawly puppet! Together you will be making beautiful bug hand puppets from cardboard. Base your moving minibeast on one you have seen in the Museum’s gorgeous gardens or create a fantastic flying critter from your own imagination. Find out more here. Paint your own pebble or plant pot – Join Artist Bea Knowles and get inspired by the Museum gardens and spring. Decorate your own plant pot or pebble to take away. Find out more here. Tuesday 4th April 2023 – Drop-in between 10am-3pm – Included in museum entry
Growing bold, growing gold! – In this drop-in workshop with Thunk-It Theatre CIC, young people are invited to come along to create their own masterpiece poem inspired by nature! As well as stretching our rhyming muscles, we will also be getting arty, creating a large-scale art piece together showing our dream gardens and green spaces!
