Scampston Christmas Trees - Scampston is once again opening its doors for you to come along and purchase your own estate-grown Christmas tree. Nigel Harrison, our head woodsman, and his team aim to produce the finest Christmas trees straight from our plantations. They take great pride in their thorough approach to growing and caring for our crop. Each year the young trees are meticulously hand-shaped and pruned in order to encourage the tree to branch and gradually achieve the full appearance of a perfectly proportioned Christmas tree.
We grow two species, the traditional Norway Spruce and the needle-holding Nordman Fir, in a wide variety of sizes. When each tree is harvested, another is planted in its place, ensuring the production of our trees is entirely sustainable.
So why not come along to Scampston Walled Garden with your family and choose your very own Scampston-grown Christmas tree! Don’t forget; annual members of Scampston Walled Garden are entitled to a 10% discount on their Christmas tree.
Our cafe will also be open on weekends throughout December for you to enjoy a festive drink and a piece of cake while you choose your tree. Unfortunately, entrance to the Walled Garden itself will remain closed until next season. Saturday 30th November to Sunday 22nd December 2019, Daily 10am-4pm
Christmas Fair (and meet Father Christmas!) - Scampston will be getting into the festive spirit with a Christmas Fair in the Victorian Conservatory. With a wide range of stalls, including local crafts and traditional festive foods, you’ll be able to find some unique Christmas gifts for your family and friends. Children will also get the opportunity to meet Father Christmas and put in their requests for the big day. To add to the merriness, there will be a brass band as well as our café serving refreshments and mulled wine. And don’t forget, Scampston’s estate grown Christmas Trees will be for sale near the Ticket Office! Saturday 30th November – Sunday 1st December 2019, 10am-4pm
