The JORVIK Viking Centre might remain closed while it’s brought back to life after the terrible Christmas flooding, but rather than (quite rightly) feeling sorry for themselves, the JORVIK Group has arranged a weekend of free admission to York residents as a thank you for their continued support of the JORVIK attractions.
From 21st to 22nd May 2016, York residents brandishing ID to prove they live in our lovely city (eg. driving licence, utility bill), can enjoy access to Barley Hall, DIG – An Archaeological Adventure, Henry VII Experience and Micklegate Bar and Richard III Experience at Monk Bar for free. There’ll also be some brilliant Viking-themed crafts in Coppergate to get stuck into. We love all the JORVIK attractions, but would particularly recommend Barley Hall and DIG for families. We’ve spent a lot of time at both (read about our visit to Barley Hall here) and our kids love them.
The JORVIK Group’s Residents Go Free Weekend – 21st to 22nd May 2016 – For more details, visit the JORVIK website.
