Derwent Danceworks says…Derwent Danceworks is an IDTA Dance School which was established in 2009 by Miss Kate Womersley, AIDTA. The largest branch is in Thorganby Village Hall, near Wheldrake, and they also have an extensive timetable at Knavesmire Primary School as well as lots on offer on Thursdays in Escrick Village Hall.
The timetable is full of varied, fun classes for children – Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Freestyle, Streetdance, Musical Theatre, Drama, Acrobatic Arts, Pre-juvenile Ballet for 2 year olds and NATD Contemporary Dance. The exam pass rate is 100%. With bi-annual full scale shows as well many smaller performance opportunities, guest artist workshops and holiday clubs, we have lots to offer prospective professional dancers as well as those looking for a fun hobby. We also have Ballet, Tap and StreetFit classes for adults.
