Riverside FestivalRiverside Festival

Lots of free fun by the riverbank with York’s Arts Barge project. It runs from Wednesday 27th to Sunday 31st July at the Tower Gardens in York  (opposite Clifford’s Tower). You’ll find more details here.

 


BOOKSStorytime at Waterstones York

Children’s author Andrew Sanders will be reading from his lovely picture book, I Have an Orange Juicy Drink. Saturday 30th July from 1pm to 3pm at Waterstones Yorkfree.  More details here

It’s The Princess Bride at City Screen Kids’ Club this weekend. Saturday 30th July – City Screen, York – film starts 11.15am – £1.50 per ticket. Also showing over the weekend: Finding Dory and The BFG. More details here.

 


Nunnington Hall - Little VikingsHunt the Nunnington Dragon at Nunnington Hall

Head out on the trail of this fire-breathing beast at this lovely National Trust property in the Howardian Hills. Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July. More details here.

 


Bishy Road PartyBishy Road Summer Party

Celebrate Bishy Road’s win as GB High Street of the Year 2016 by heading across to The Winning Post on Bishopthorpe Road on Sunday 31st July from 12 noon until late for the summer party. There’ll be food, drink, the Bishy Bake-off, stalls and fun stuff for kids. More details here.

Yorkshire Day at York Maze

Celebrate all that’s great about God’s Own Country at one of York’s best attractions, with round bale racing, Yorkshire pud eating and Yorkshire pud throwing (what a waste!). Monday 1st August, 10am to 6.30pm More details here

There’s a fab programme of summer craft activities at York Minster, with a different craft each Wednesday. Drop in and get creative.
