The excitement of Easter might be over, but there’s lots of fun stuff coming up in York for kids.
Here’s our pick of the shows and festivals that families can look forward to in and around in York over the next few months.
After a storming first year, York’s answer to the Edinburgh Festival is back with a packed programme for families. It’s all taking place in the centre of York (Parliament Street) between 15th and 31st July. Among the must-see shows are Julia Donaldson’s Tiddler, The Amazing Bubble Show and Baby Loves Disco. Book early to bag your seats – leave it to the last minute at your peril!
We couldn’t be more excited about the reopening of York Theatre Royal at the end of April. One for parents, opening show Brideshead Revisited is sure to be an absolute treat and we can’t wait to see it. Little Vikings can look forward to a bumper programme of events and activities during May half term, including a Roald Dahl workshop and the chance to explore backstage. The Takeover Festival, run by 12 to 26 year olds, takes place in July and is always great fun. Magnifying glass at the ready, Sherlock Holmes – The Hound of the Baskervilles promises to be a fun-filled family show to entertain us this summer.
