Build a Lego Castle fit for a King or Queen at York Castle Museum

Lego Castle MuseumAs part of the Lego half term activities at York Castle Museum, Lego fans under the age of 16 (sorry dads!) have the chance to compete to build a spectacular castle from the humble coloured bricks. There are different categories: 7 year olds and under, 8-12 year olds and 13-16 year olds. Entrants need to email a picture of their castle to the museum. The Castle learning team will then pick their three winners – one from each age category – and put them on display in the museum. Visitors will then vote for one of them as the overall winner.

To enter the competition, send your pictures and contact details to by Wednesday May 21 and be ready to bring your castle to the Museum for Friday 23 May. Over the May half term visitors will also be able to play with Lego and Duplo in the Workhouse learning room (from 11 am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm). In the Castle Kitchen there will also be the chance to try Lego jelly. Yum.
