DESCRIPTION:\nVisit the Rivers2U mobile classroom at Homestead Park for hands-on river activities, wildlife, flooding solutions and freshwater discoveries\n\n\n\nThursday 27th August 11:00am-12.30pm and 1.30-3:00pm; Drop-in sessions.\n\n\n\nThe York rivers trail partner, Yorkshire Dales Rivers Trust, will bring their Rivers2U van and run a drop in, interactive session at Homestead Park. Visit the mobile classroom and explore rivers, wildlife and habitats: the water cycle and techniques used to slow the flow of water and reduce flooding.\n\n\n\nCome and talk to staff about techniques used to slow down the flow of water to help mitigate the effects of flooding downstream at York. There will also be the chance to view a sample of freshwater invertebrates from the river, giving us an indication of river health.\n\n\n\nThis event is part of the York rivers trail: the rivers and us.\n\n\n\nAbout the York rivers trailThe York rivers trail: the rivers and us is a new trail along the River Ouse connecting people, place and flood resilience.
