DESCRIPTION:\nThis major exhibition at York Art Gallery brings over 100 stunning Japanese woodblock prints to the city, including Hokusai’s iconic The Great Wave off Kanagawa. Spanning 300 years, the show explores landscapes, legends, seasonal celebrations and the vibrant ‘floating world’ of historic Japan.\n\n\n\nAlongside the prints, you’ll find beautiful kimonos, early printed books, armour and even original woodblocks used by contemporary artists.
